It’s tough for me to be a performer and a promoter and a curator and still be caught by surprise by music.. It’s like this for any artist- TOUGH to stand on his own two feet without havin his head too high above everyone else, too high to be an honest soul, believer
(although the belief itself is nothin’ - just a sense of purpose - not to be genuine.)
… or too submerged within the whole scene to the point he hates all art because “everything is the same.”
I’ve been tryina remain somewhere in between.
Sometimes though; even in my own work, I don’t know what the hell I’m doing anymore. And sure.. I believe it doesn’t have to be defined… BUT this is like a bad, bad, art is dead kinda way. Like I can’t tell the difference from the real young at heart souls and those phonies…
And where we’re all different people and we’re all tryina be heard,
I guess it’s those ones that are just putting out that pure sound, a sound they don’t recognize as anything, are the ones that give you that chill..
Those that truly make it (and not just “yo dude, they made it.”) are those honest ones, making something that is to the point of not only “what’s cool,” but also welcoming you into what they’re feeling.. what everyone’s feeling, but described in sucha way that we all couldn’t say it.
Music is that analog of history anyways..
We all have a band that’s resonating with us…
that’s the coolest thing, we feel the same thing…
But for you it does somethin and for me I get it else where…
As long its bringin that ever-changing self out of us.
I guess we all see the same heart or hear somethin that we can relate to,
sometimes I guess we get too desperate to feel ANYTHING that we can’t tell the difference…
I just can’t stand this onslaught of knowing every band just to know them…
whoever withstands that test of time will matter in the end, but I guess the real problemo is that extension of sharing artists with EACH OTHER and listening to records TOGETHER is DYING.
We’re gettin alittle too absorbed into this computer screen world where we don’t even know how we relate anymore. No lineage. Just that this band sounds like this one or whatever.
I believe in listeners and I believe in those speakers
and to be one we gotta be the other…
Some honest-tea shit.
(the other 4 senses are obviously very important too.)
I’ve been feelin like I’ve repeated myself too much in the past year to the point where you can tell the difference and I’ve been disillusioned by whats actually goin on…
What will it take to imagine again?
Open up to what is actually goin on wherever you walk…
Wherever you want to walk.
I haven’t been doin enough walkin.

Doors 8pm | $8 or $5 w/ non-perishable item for the Doylestown Food Pantry! | All AgesHEART LAND [Cream Of Turner Productions/Tequila Sunrise / New Hope, PA avant-indie electronic noise]http://creamofturner.com/A real slow-mo builder chock full of distant buzzes, up-front clanking and generally druggy vibes that got me warm and wistful for the first mind blowing times I first heard things like Letters from the Earth by No Neck Blues Band, Psychedelic Underground by Amon Duul, Mind of a Brother by Sunburned Hand of the Man and many other OG tribal electronic records. And would ya check out that packaging? Such a gorgeous site I won’t even place it on my toilet, and that’s saying something. -Rettsounds Viceland.comCOMOROS [Fedora Corpse Recordings / Philadelphia noise duo]http://comoros.tumblr.com/Comoros is a drone duo from Philadelphia. They play huge, dirty delay riffs entwined with heavy analog synth tones. This band emerged out of an experiment to see just how many different forms of delay two people could play through before the sound decayed into chaos. Comoros still pushes that line, but they keep things surprisingly rhythmic amongst waves and washing delays. Comoros are Adam & Jennifer Melinn, who are also the proprietors of Fedora Corpse Recordings. -last.fm](http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lkfibyUCHN1qzgz32o1_500.jpg)
